3.8 Reporting aviation incidents

Unforeseen or unexpected incidents can always occur. An aviation incident is an event that endangers or could have endangered an aircraft, persons, or the surrounding area. Examples include:

  • A collision between the UAS and another aircraft, person or other piece of infrastructure;
  • A near miss involving the UAS and another aircraft, person or other piece of infrastructure;
  • The UAS flying away uncontrollably.
