4.2 Visual perception and sight

In our daily lives, visual perception is our greatest source of information, and this is no different during flight. The human body uses the eyes for visual perception. The actual visual perception of an object, for instance, consists of two parts:

  1. Optical part: the mechanical action of the lens makes sure that light is projected onto the retina;
  2. Neurological part: the light is converted into electrical impulses.
  1. You can move your visual field by moving your head and/or body.
