Chapter 6

6.7  Limits

The manual of an UAS will also address the technical and meteorological limits of the UAS, which must be respected at all times.

The technical limits often relate to the following:

  • Altitude;
  • Speed;
  • Distance;
  • Maximum take-off weight.

Manuals will often set certain meteorological limits, such as maximum wind speeds. However, pilots must always take all circumstances that may jeopardise flight safety into account, such as:

  • Temperature;
  • Precipitation;
  • Wind;
  • Visibility.
