6.3 | BATTERIES
The battery
is the energy provider of the unmanned aircraft. A battery consists of several
cells, which convert chemical energy into electricity.
Cells can
be connected in two ways:
- Parallel: this delivers the same
electrical voltage as a single cell, but can deliver a greater electrical
current (amperes).
- In series: this provides a higher
electrical voltage as a single cell, but the same electrical current
(amps).
- Letting it burn out in a controlled way
