8.3 | LONG EXPOSURE NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY 

ISO value:

  • Use an ISO of 400-800 when taking pictures in or of an exposed environment such as a city.
  • Use an ISO of 3,200-6,400 if you are taking pictures in pitch black environments or of starry skies. Do take into account the strength of the moonlight.
  • Keep in mind the noise that can occur when using high ISO values.

Aperture: 

  • Unlike shooting during the day, a slow shutter speed combined with a large aperture is desirable at night.
