9.9 | CODEC 

The abbreviation CODEC stands for COmpress and DECompress. A CODEC is a mathematical formula used to make video files smaller. This is possible because the formula converts the data from the video file to binary numbers, the compression part. Certain data is permanently deleted. During the decompression part, these numbers are then converted back into images and sounds recognisable to humans. The parts removed during compression cannot return during decompression.
