6.4 | SITUATION AWARENESS 

In addition to visual perception, the pilot must also be aware of the situation in which he/she finds him/herself.

Becoming aware of a situation is done in three steps:

  • Perception: the pilot concentrates on the most important thing and avoids any kind of distraction.  
  • Projecting: Being able to anticipate on the basis of the information. 

Example

The pilot will anticipate heavy gusts of wind during the flight by landing the unmanned aircraft.
