4.2 | SITUATIONAL AWARENESS

In addition to visual perception, a pilot must also be aware of the environmental conditions in which he or she is flying.

Some practical examples of a changing environmental situation are:

  • Joining large groups of people in the area where you are currently flying.
  • The sudden onset of strong winds or other weather conditions.
  • Other drones coming into your flight area.

As a pilot, it is important to always act from a safety first mindset.
