4.4 | SITUATIONAL AWARENESS 

In addition to visual perception, the pilot must also be aware of the situation he/she is in. Becoming aware of a situation is based on three steps:

  • Perception /observation: the pilot concentrates on the most important thing and avoids any distraction.
  • Projecting: being able to anticipate based on the information.  

Example

  • Do not base your judgement on limited information.
  • Take the necessary time to reach a solution, weighing the options.
